Amelia and Mimicry
The first illustration for new Quirky Worlds moleskine book. On late nights, the drawing was permissibly imaginary and fortified with ink and colored pencil. Meanwhile, the words were thoughtfully conjectured during bouts of fitful despair followed by much jammed toast and curious imported tea.
The Definitely Impish Pantagonian Crested Mimicry
Amelia Rutherford persistently asserted that the very nearly extinct Pantagonian Crested Mimicry never blinked an eye.
Beyond doubt, what Amelia had failed to deduce, was that the Pantagonian Crested Mimicry mischievously blinked precisely when she blinked.

You are so talented! Are you getting paid for your work?!?

GoldieLocs,
Thanks. Yes, but not paid enough! Ha,ha. I only recently starting obtaining illustration jobs. Of course always on the lookout for more work. Enjoy it tremendously. Nearly forgot how rewarding it can be since the last time I ventured into this field many years ago while professionally illustrating for publication companies such as poster and greeting card companies to name a few.
You certainly have patience with your wonderful knitting. Cheers.

Wonderful! I only wish jammed toast and curious imported tea worked as well on my curious fits!

Hi Mariana,
Plenty more jam and stronger tea may help resolve your curious fits. Ha, ha.

Hi Tim,
Thank you. Drawing and writing about memories, etc. is very rewarding.
Wonderful to hear from parents whose child have aspirations of becoming an artist. Wishing him all the best.

These are literally some of the most beautiful illustrations I have ever seen. They are absolutely delightful! I don't have words to describe them in a way that does them justice. I am just so happy to know there are artists out there who still do amazing art like this. I hope your career continues for many, many more years to come.

Hi, I love your blog, it is filled with the quriky and mysterious and antique and as I too am very drawn to other lives and other times, it really gives me great pleasure to visit here. I will visit again. I love the moleskine illustrations, especially the Amelia and Mimicry - outstandingly imaginative and lyrical. Your artwork is so beautiful too, thanks - I enjoyed my visit : ) best wishes from AKR
