Molly and Polly

Twins

Twins Molly and Polly worked themselves up to perpetually disagree. Yet demonstrating the ball and rope trick, they irretrievably agreed.

Hello.

Well, I was going to post an illustration featuring a man tinkering with his incredible scientific invention. But it has turned into a very complicating subject and composition to render.

So until he's ready to share with you . . . here is an illustration that will have to suffice. Admittedly I'm not happy with this one due to the ladies ill-proportioned heads, hands, and especially chins. All way too large! Unfortunately I had not noticed this until after inking. Now I'm unable to fix.

Hmmm, hold on, I'm thinking. Yes, I need a mechanical machine in my studio. It would be used for times when I do something wrong. Just flip a switch and a large booted foot kicks me in the rear! Ha, Ha! Anyway, hope the next illustration turns out right!

Until next time ~ Have A Nice Weekend!

Amelia and Mimicry

Mimicry

The first illustration for new Quirky Worlds moleskine book. On late nights, the drawing was permissibly imaginary and fortified with ink and colored pencil. Meanwhile, the words were thoughtfully conjectured during bouts of fitful despair followed by much jammed toast and curious imported tea.

The Definitely Impish Pantagonian Crested Mimicry

Amelia Rutherford persistently asserted that the very nearly extinct Pantagonian Crested Mimicry never blinked an eye.

Beyond doubt, what Amelia had failed to deduce, was that the Pantagonian Crested Mimicry mischievously blinked precisely when she blinked.

The Quirky And Fantastical

Hello.

Beginning this week - with all good intents and purposes, I aim to render a fusion of artwork alluding to the mysterious, fantastical, and whimsical. Therefore, a series of new illustrations for Quirky Worlds and Cornucopia moleskine books commence in a most random discretion. Granted these two books will be the most irrational of the previous 'Journeys' and eventual 'Then & Now' books . But creatively speaking, I'm ready to try something different for a change. At least for little while.

Quirky Worlds . . .

Quirky Worlds will take place in the Victorian & Edwardian time periods. Comical and trifling in manner, it will depict a multitude of eccentric people; elegant and crumbling mansions; occasional bleak landscapes; strange creatures that inhabit earth and sky; children who unravel grown-ups; ghostly visitations; and scientific contraptions and inventions which convey elemental peculiarities.

By the way ~ Previously I had mentioned that this particular book would depict the life and times of the eccentric Edmund Dawkins. However, there's been a change of plans. Edmund will be depicted in another book sometime in the near future. Also, I intend to create his story utilizing flash animation along with incorporating music. If all goes well I'll do the same with others.

Cornucopia . . .

Cornucopia alludes to a menagerie of fantastical worlds with reference to long ago places and events; including glimpses of playful and enchanting things relating to people and animals.
